Well last night was, I guess, the “Official Kick off” of the Centennial celebration of the Boy Scouts of America!!
Extremely exciting I kept thinking to myself as I listened in on to the online rally last night. Listening to the vision and excitement of the presenters. It occurred to me that we have so much to do to prepare for our troops celebration in February and throughout the year, to include Jamboree 2010!
Then I got a call last night from a great Scouting friend, he had something for me! More books for my collection.
I collect Scout books, all kinds of Scouting literature. I will write more about that later. But as I looked through the box of books he gave me, I could not help but take a little mental trip down memory lane. A Wolf Handbook, the same that I had when I was a Cub Scout. The pictures in the 10th Edition of the Boy Scout Handbook brought back many, many memories.
Looking to the future and all of the exciting things that are going to happen in Scouting moving into the next 100 years I am thrilled and ready for the challenges that are ahead.
So what are some of your memories? What are some of the things that you all are doing to celebrate the BSA’s 100th Anniversary? Share your thoughts and Ideas with me.. I would love to hear it.
Have a Great Scouting Day!
